Upload Project-File

Hello,

I usually create my covers with GIMP.
After the cover has been uploaded, I save the GIMP project file for possible corrections in the future.
I think it would be a good idea to optionally upload this file together with the cover. Hidden and only rebuildable for the uploader.

So a optionally upload option for:
- .xcf-files (GIMP)
- .psd-files (Photoshop)
- ...

Some of my PSD's run as high 60MB per cover. That's a lot of GB for us to store and most users generally don't ever update their covers. I think it's better if you remain responsible for your own backups.

Of course you need more memory then.
But, memory is no longer expensive these days. ;)
(I would also donate a bit)

----------------------------------------------

If the project files are not hidden. Could others simply extend or translate these.
So it would be easier to offer a cover in another language, without having to recreate it.

It would also be possible to add or change a CD number.
DISC-1, 2, 3, ...

This would save redundancy and thus memory ;)

I would have to agree with you on this, even my smaller projects take a ton of space. One case even almost takes about 200MB, (A non released case even...).

Even if HD Storage was cheap, it would be quite a pain to actually implement into the system from what I can imagine.

If the missing resource are programmers.
Here I am :D
I have been working as a programmer for several years and find this site so nice that I would like to help too.

Thanks @domidodo, but I'd rather not store and be responsible for other user's original work files. I'd recommend uploading them to a cloud service (dropbox, google drive, etc...) or buying an external drive.
